# Date & Nut Bread
## Ingredients
- 3/4 cup chopped pecans
- 1 cup chopped dates
- 1 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 cup shortening (oleo)
- 3/4 cup boiling water
- 2 eggs, slightly beaten
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 1/2 cups sifted flour
## Instructions
1. Combine pecans, dates, baking soda, salt, shortening, and boiling water. Mix all these ingredients together and let stand 15 minutes.
2. Add slightly beaten eggs, sugar, and sifted flour; mix to combine.
3. Pour into a greased loaf pan and bake at 350° for 1 hour. - Creator
